About the Show...
Unsigned is an exciting new Unscripted series featuring competition for Unsigned bands. Designed to put the viewer in the driver's seat, as if they were a label executive, the show has many interactive features. The show appeals to the inner talent scout in everyone, and it gives viewers a chance to win prizes, by correctly picking which band will get eliminated, which band will win, etc. In the Houston/Pilot version, the winning band gets the opening slot at Buzzfest, and recording time with Sugar Hill Recording Studios. The goal is to air multiple episodes on a major TV network. The producers, and selection committee will choose the initial bands prior to airing the first episode. Upon selection of final line-up, the audience (TV and studio) will vote to determine who advances each week. For the national version, the winning band will win a development deal with a major record label , plus cash and prizes donated by sponsors. The goal of the show is to find America's hottest, up and coming bands, while also giving the viewing audience an inside look at their lives, and chance to win a job in the industry.

Episodes will feature a clip of each band, how they got into music, stories from the road, etc., before performing. Bands will be reviewed by judges, and interviewed by our co-host, Carrie Milbank. At the conclusion of each show, audience will be directed to vote for their favorite band to advance.

Episodes will also feature an interactive format, and contests. When the audience votes, they will be entered for a random drawing for prizes including a trip to see the show live, meet the contestants, merchandise, etc.

In addition to being entertained, one lucky viewer will have the opportunity to win an internship in the music industry, either as an A&R scout/intern, or working as one of the TV program's interns, scouts/selection committee members. When the initial line-up is announced, viewers will have the opportunity to submit the name of the band they think will win the final competition, and why. Obviously, more than one person will choose the correct band, so a tie-breaker consisting of trivia/opinions from previous episodes will determine the winner. The person selected will be offered a paid position with either a record label, or with the TV program. Most people feel that they have a great ear for music, and a great eye for talent. This will give them a chance to prove it.

The search to find the hottest unsigned rock bands will take place soon. Regional selections were held for the pilot in Dallas, Austin, and Houston. Filming for the finale has completed.
Unsigned is produced by Phenix Entertainment, and Jaret Reddick of Bowling For Soup.
